For every show that is preformed at DMS we have an audition process that an actor must take part in to before cast roles can be assigned. Auditions are just apart of theatre and nothing to be nervous about. Always remember that the directors (the people casting the show) want you to be awesome. They want to see great things when you walk in for auditions. They don't want you to be a failure.
Audition materials-You will find any additional audition material, all audition sides, a rehearsal seclude and an audition form on the Call Board outside of Mr. Hoover's room.
Auditions- Date will be announced and a digital sign up will be posted and a QR code will be on the Call Board outside of Mr. Hoover's or you can click the "Audition Sign Up" button below.
Call Backs-What are callbacks? A callback means that the director would like to see an actor again, perhaps to hear them read from the script or see them next to another actor. Receiving a callback does not guarantee you a part in the show, and not receiving one doesn't necessarily mean you won't be cast.
Posting and posting the cast list-Once all of the audition forms have been looked over and the directors talk about what they saw everyone do at auditions they then make decisions about who will be cast(placed) into which role. A list will be posted on the front page of the DMS Theatre webpage along with a printed version outside of Mr. Hoover's room.
Below is a helpful video to watch about what happens when the cast list is posted.
